Nearly a year ago The Scout Association refreshed its logo and branding – as with all change some people hated it, some loved it, and some were indifferent. When I first saw it I was underwhelmed, but it has grown on me and I’m now a fan. Now when I see the old logo in use it jars. I think the new logo is cleaner and adapts well to use at County, District or Group level. I wonder if we are all using the new imagery? There was a 2-year period to change over – does your District / Group have a plan to meet this?

The logo is just one part of the Brand that we want to portray as members of The Scout Association. Our reputation and how we are perceived is influenced by all sorts of things, how a group of Scouts act when out in public, the things we post on facebook, the conversations we have with work colleagues etc etc. All of these can promote a positive or negative perception.

We know that a good reputation can be lost by one careless action, or a friendship soured by a careless post on social media. Sometimes it is good to think before posting ….. remember that words are in black and white and people cannot see the cheeky grin that goes with them. When read cold they are misunderstood and then ……….
