Deputy County Commissioner for Programme and Activities

I am delighted to announce that I have appointed Wendy Williams to be Deputy County Commissioner for Programme and Activities.  She has a wealth of experience and I will let her introduce herself in her own words. Nigel Hailey, County Commissioner

“Let me introduce myself. I am Wendy Williams and am proud to have been appointed your Deputy County Commissioner for Programme and Activities. My home District is West Warwickshire where I have been Scouting for over 20 years. Previously, I have held a range of roles including Assistant Scout leader, Explorer leader, District Explorer Scout Commissioner and District Commissioner through to, most recently, District Scout Network Commissioner. Scouting has led me on many great adventures and you may recognise me from Get In 2015 and Cub100.
Alongside all of these adventures I am a junior school teacher and mum, supported (and nagged) by my husband Iain and two sons Jonathon and Ewan. Scouting is part of all our lives and without their love and tolerance my adventures would be so much harder.
The role of DCC is going to be my biggest challenge yet and I hope that you will encourage me to be part of your adventures. I look forward to working alongside you all and promise to listen, support, help inspire and in turn we will grow our County’s scouting journey together.”

Welcome to the County Team Wendy!
