If you would like to know about internal comms, social media, writing a press release, pitching a story to the paper etc. All of this is covered in the workshop. From ones we have run recently, people have come away with the confidence to write a story about “Beaver Scouts visit the fire station” and it has appeared in the local paper.

County WEB site has a calendar showing events at County level and several Districts. We hope to make this the main point of call for all District and County Activities. Have you put important dates onto the Calendar? Until end of December send your information to website@warwickshirescouts.org.uk giving details of the event, District, date and times, venue, contact details and we will update the calendar. The calendar can be easily sorted to show just your District or just Training – or everything – it’s up to you – give us the details and we will put it on the WEB site. See www.warwickshirescouts.org.uk/calendar

Youth representative for the County Executive
We are seeking two people who are currently members of Warwickshire Scouting and aged between 18 and 25 years old to stand for nomination to the County Executive for a period of one year.
The County Executive is the body of around 20 trustees who oversee Scouting in Warwickshire.   We hold three meetings each year; three on Wednesday evenings and one Saturday morning half day meeting.  Expenses are available to cover mileage and as we have representatives from each District attending so shared transport can usually be arranged.
This is a good opportunity for someone to gain an insight into the working of County, to better understand charity governance and the role could be a useful addition to a CV. If this is a role you are interested in or you know someone who might be, please contact Kerrie McCann, County Chairman at mccannfamily22@talktalk.net  for more information or a chat.

GET IN DVD has now been posted to everyone who asked for one and provided their address. (arriving 3rd September) If you would like a copy (Price £10.00) see Tony Guy at the Annual general meeting

November WISPA will contain 2 pages of details each from the Jamboree in Japan and the visit to Caribbean. Do you have any good stories about your Summer Camps in Europe and UK. Send them to wispa@warwickshirescouts.org.uk
