iWispa April 2018

This month Nigel has been thinking about thanking people – see his thoughts at http://www.warwickshirescouts.org.uk/cc-blog-no-18-april-2018/

Census.  Thanks for everyone for completing the census in a timely manner.  We are delighted to report that we continue to grow in numbers with youth membership up 4.2%.  This is an excellent result.  We do still have over 600 young people who are on our waiting lists and are the right age to join us – a challenge to us all to give these young people the Scouting Adventure.

Situations vacant!

Kerrie McCann indicated that she wished to stand down as our County Chairperson in September – we are looking for a new person to Chair County Executive and Trustee Board and to work alongside the County Team in delivering Scouting in the County.

We are also looking for a new County Communications Manager as Tony Guy will be stepping down from leading in this area.  Another key role to ensure effective internal and external communications and promotion of Scouting in the County.

Information about and application forms for both these roles can be found at http://www.warwickshirescouts.org.uk/county/situation-vacant/ or contact Nigel at nigel.hailey@wawickshirescouts.org.uk

Maggie Webb has been appointed ACC Beavers. You can contact her on ACCBeavers@warwickshirescouts.org.uk There will be an informal chat with Maggie in May WISPA.

The Tesco Bags of Help programme
Bags of Help is Tesco’s exciting local community grant scheme where the money raised from the sale of carrier bags is being used to fund thousands of local projects in communities right across the UK. Launched in 2015, Bags of Help sees charities and community organisations awarded grants to fund local projects.
Three community projects in each local area will be voted on by customers in Tesco stores throughout the UK, with projects changing every other month. Following the vote, the project that received the most votes in its area will receive a grant of up to £4,000, second place receiving up to £2,000 and third place up to £1,000. Customers are given a token when they buy their shopping that they can use to make their choice using the voting units in most stores.
